Mid-Year Review Master Class

Day 3

Decode Your Review Conversation

Listen & Lead

Welcome back.

Today is about showing up with presence and turning your review conversation into a growth opportunity.

🔍 Theme:

Show up ready to listen and learn, not defend.

Why? The review itself is a gold mine for growth, but only if you read between the lines.

📝 Reflection Prompt:

  • What signs will tell me my manager sees me as an asset?

  • What signs might indicate risk or concern?

💡 Watch for These Cues:

  • Good signs: Direct praise, linking your work to future initiatives, signs of trust (like new opportunities).

  • Red flags: Vague feedback, repeated concerns, lack of specifics.

🚀 Action Steps:

  • During your review, watch for these 3 cues:
1️⃣ Signals of growth (new challenges, more scope, investment in you).
2️⃣ Signals of concern (lack of clarity, repeated vague feedback).
3️⃣ Signals of alignment (how your work fits in the bigger picture).

  • Take detailed notes during the conversation.

  • End with one clarifying question to show leadership and initiative:
“Based on this feedback, what’s one thing I can focus on in the next 6 months to add even more value?”

This is how you move from reactive to strategic.
